April 2012:
NHEC has installed just over 50,000 new smart meters since June 2011. Installers are currently working in the following towns: Lisbon, Lyman, Sugar Hill, Easton, Monroe, Littleton, Freedom, Wakefield, Ossipee, Madison and Tuftonboro. Scheduled for installation within the next month are members in Bartlett, Conway, North Conway, Glen, Hale's Location, Intervale, Kearsarge and Jackson. Installation of the remaining 33,000 meters and communications system will be complete by November 2012. NHEC is already using the technology made possible by the smart meter system to conduct a two-year pilot program that studies the impact of time-based rates on members' energy usage. Starting June 1, about 400 Co-op member volunteers were selected to switch to a new rate that charges more than the standard rate during on-peak hours (noon to 8 p.m. on summer weekdays) and off-peak rates that are lower than the standard rate during all other hours. November 2011:
NHEC has installed more than 17,000 AMI meters to date and is currently installing meters in parts of the following towns: Lincoln, Woodstock, North Woodstock, Waterville Valley, Thornton, Meredith and Plymouth. Towns scheduled for installations in the next six weeks include: Canaan, Dorchester, Grafton, Hebron, Lyme, Orford, Piermont, Rumney, Warren and Wentworth.

July 2011:
The second batch of smart meter installations will occur in July and August in parts of the following towns: Campton, Center Harbor, Ellsworth, Groton, Hebron, Holderness, Meredith, New Hampton, Plymouth, and Rumney. We estimate approximately 4100 installations in this batch.

June 2011:
The first smart meters are set for installation. Approximately 2,400 members in parts of Plymouth, Meredith, Rumney and Campton will be receiving new meters from late June through mid-July.
