Co-op Covered Bridge 5K

New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) is pleased to host the annual Cooperative Covered Bridge 5K road race.

The event, which is held each year on Labor Day weekend, draws hundreds of walkers and runners from across New England and supports local non-profit organizations. The 2009 race raised more than $7,000 for the Pemi Youth Center of Plymouth and Keeping You, Me & Memories Alive, Inc. of central New Hampshire. The race starts and finishes inside the Smith Millennium Covered Bridge that spans the Baker River in Plymouth. The scenic course takes runners along Fairgrounds Road to a turnaround point where it enters the hard-packed dirt of an old railroad right-of-way before returning to Fairgrounds Road and finishes just past the covered bridge. The course is certified "basically flat" by USA Track & Field and is a highlight of the New England road racing calendar.

In addition to a great course, the event features cash prizes for the top male and female runners. There's a Fun Run for kids and a large raffle at the conclusion of the race. Race timing is by Granite State Race Services. Check back at this page for details about the 5th annual race as the date approaches. Registration forms will be available for download at the right of this page a month prior to the race. Runners and walkers can also register online at active.com.
