Lighting

Members who purchase energy-efficient interior and exterior light bulbs and fixtures can receive rebate coupons redeemable at participating retailers or select lighting products from a mail order or online catalog. A typical ENERGY STAR® rated compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) uses 70% less electricity than incandescent light bulbs, yet produces the same light output. CFLs last up to 10 times longer than incandescent light bulbs and burn out less frequently so you don't have to change them time and time again. The ENERGY STAR® Residential Lighting Program offers rebates of:

$2 per compact fluorescent light bulb (up to 6 bulbs)
$10 for ENERGY STAR® exterior fixtures
$15 for ENERGY STAR® interior fixtures and torchieres

To be cost-effective, CFLs should be installed in locations where they will be used for at least 2-3 hours at a time. If they are turned on and off frequently the life expectancy of the bulb decreases. Act now! Rebate funds are limited.
