The Organization

In June 2017, NHEC completed a five-year strategic plan, identifying four areas of strategic focus with actionable goals within those areas which will be completed by the end of 2022.

The Position

The project manager will join the project management organization and be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of multidisciplinary projects. They will support the organizational strategy through an established project management office, in which project documentation, management, and reporting will be completed using Smarthseet, in accordance with PMP standards. A successful project manager will work closely with colleagues across the organization to deliver projects on time and in scope. This position offers the ability for a virtual work environment, but still requires periodic on-site work in the Plymouth NH area (at least 20% at times). 


  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict and manage resources needed to reach objectives in an efficient manner
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Analyze technical challenges and create risk assessments
  • Monitor progress and measure performance in order to identify areas for improvement
  • Organize time and resources to manage multiple projects simultaneously


Technical knowledge/skill:

  • Experience working technical projects, such as telecommunications and broadband
  • Proven ability to organize and complete projects according to outlined scope and timeline
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Teams and Excel
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders through video conferences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education/experience requirement (minimum)

  • BS/BA degree
  • Must be a certified and current Project Management Professional
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience managing a portfolio of projects full time
  • Electrical company, broadband or telecommunications project management experience highly preferred

Working Conditions:

Assistance with power restoration efforts is required of all employees. It may be required during regular business hours that employees will be assigned functions to support power restoration and for some employees that may be different from their normal duties. In addition, such assistance may require working nights, weekends and holidays which may involve considerable extra hours. In order to meet this working condition, all employees are required to provide a personal phone number where they may be reached after hours. This number will only be used for internal purposes.
