CLAREMONT, NH – Employees of New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) will join American Red Cross volunteers and the Claremont Fire Department on October 26, 2019 for a one-day drive to install free smoke alarms in the homes of NHEC members without functioning alarms.
The event, part of the national Red Cross Home Fire Campaign and Sound the Alarm initiatives, was made possible by a grant from the NH Electric Co-op Foundation. Installations will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers will get to as many homes as possible in Claremont on October 26, however any home in New Hampshire or Vermont without functioning smoke alarms is eligible to receive free alarms. To make an appointment for free installation of smoke alarms, please visit the American Red Cross of NH/VT website here.
The NHEC Foundation is funded by the generosity of over 40,000 NHEC members who participate in the Round Up Program. Participating members agree to have their monthly electric bill rounded up to the next dollar with the proceeds benefiting the NHEC Foundation.
