We are very excited to announce Michael Jennings has been named President & CEO of New Hampshire Electric Cooperative by the Co-op’s Board of Directors effective immediately. As you may know, he has been serving in that role on an interim basis since Jan. 1.
Jennings is a professional engineer who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut, an engineering degree from the University of Hartford, and a master’s degree in corporate finance from Southern New Hampshire University. He joined NHEC in 2019 as Director of Engineering and was steadily promoted to Vice President of Engineering & Operations, and later to Vice President of Energy Delivery. In 2021, he was recognized nationally as a Co-op Rising Star by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He and his family reside in Tilton.
On naming Jennings President & CEO, Co-op Board Chair Bill Darcy stated: “We’re thrilled to officially welcome Mike into the CEO role. He brings sharp strategic insight and a deep commitment to our members and employees. Under his leadership, we’ve maintained some of the lowest electric rates in the state, expanded access to high-speed internet in rural communities, and made smart investments in technology. Mike has been instrumental in driving these efforts forward, and we’re confident he’ll continue to lead with vision and integrity.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this exceptional organization,” said Jennings. “We have an outstanding team at the Co-op, and I’m proud of the work we’re doing every day to serve our members. Looking ahead, we’re focused on building a more resilient and modern electric grid, expanding broadband access, and continuing to innovate in how we deliver value. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re committed to meeting their needs with reliable, affordable service and forward-thinking solutions.”
