About our organization New Hampshire Electric Cooperative is not your traditional utility. We think differently because the industry and our members’ expectations are changing. We’re looking for people who help us exceed those expectations, while contributing to a corporate culture that values respect for each other, creativity and teamwork. For most of our 80 years in business, our primary mission was to provide affordable electric service to the residents of rural New Hampshire who were not being served by the for-profit utilities of the day. Today, our mission has evolved with our members’ changing needs. While many members still want us to procure and deliver their power, others work with competitive suppliers or make their own procurement decisions. Still others want to generate their own electricity and rely on us only for their residual power needs. Some members want direct control over every aspect of their energy supply, while others ask only that we keep the lights on and rates low. Preparing to meet these diverse needs yet remaining affordable poses significant challenges. It is these considerations that led NHEC’s board of directors and senior management to undertake a comprehensive strategic planning process that develops a clear vision of where the organization hopes to be in 20 years, and sets aggressive goals to move towards that vision over the next three to five years. That’s where you come in! To realize the vision of our strategic plan, we need employees who are nimble, collaborative and will take advantage of the opportunity to enhance an already great organization.
