Stephen E. Kaminski, Power Planning and Policy Advisor

After graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1974, Steve went to work as an electrical engineer with the U.S.D.A. Rural Electrification Administration in Washington, D.C.  In 1981 he joined New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC), advancing through several positions to the role of VP of Power Resources and Access, responsible for NHEC’s procurement and management of the NHEC’s wholesale energy, capacity, and renewable certificates portfolios for the “Co-op Power” option that NHEC offers to its 80,000 consumer-members, and for the transmission service arrangements to deliver Co-op Power, as well as electricity NHEC’s members may purchase from state-registered competitive retail suppliers, to NHEC’s electric distribution system.  In 2019 Steve stepped down from his VP position to his new role as Power Planning and Policy Advisor, in which he continues to represent NHEC in the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL) and as NHEC’s liaison with ISO-New England.
