We Make Connecting and Disconnecting Easy

Use the steps below to make changes to your service. As always, we are happy to help.

I Need to Start Service.

If you need to establish electric service, please contact Member Solutions 1-800-698-2007 from 8am to 5 pm M-F (excluding holidays) Most service can be established within 3 to 5 business days, excluding holidays.

In Order to Turn on Electric Service in Your Name, You Will Need to Provide :

  1. Complete address at the service location
  2. Social Security number or driver’s license number and date of birth (you and your spouse if applicable)
  3. Meter number or current NHEC account number at the service location

Service Information:

  1. Requested date to start service
  2. Your last name, first name, middle initial
  3. Spouse’s last name, first name, middle initial
  4. Your present address
  5. Phone number
  6. Email address
  7. Name of additional person authorized on the account (if desired)

There will be a service charge to reconnect or transfer the service into your name.  If you are setting up a new account and power is not currently on, there is a reconnect fee.  If power is already on and you are transferring the account into your name, a transfer fee will apply. If you haven’t had service with NHEC with a good credit history in the past, a deposit or automatic payment will be required.

 


I Need to Stop Service.

If you have a current account that you need to close, you can request a disconnection of service.

Here’s What You Will Need to Schedule Disconnection:

  • Account number and service address
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security number or driver’s license number (verified over the phone)
  • Contact information for your landlord or seller/realtor if the property is being sold
  • The date you would like your service disconnected
  • Forwarding address and phone number

Things to Note:

  • Most services can be disconnected within 3 to 5 business days, excluding holidays
  • You can reach our call center at 1-800-698-2007 from 8am to 5 pm M-F (excluding holidays)
  • Be sure the property is winterized as NHEC is not responsible for any damage resulting from the power being disconnected per your request

I Need to Transfer Service.

If you are an existing member and are moving from your current location to a new location that is also served by NHEC we will need to set up a disconnection of service for your current account and then either reconnect or transfer electric service for the new location into your name.

Most service can be established or disconnected within 3 to 5 business days, excluding holidays.

In order to set up the disconnection of service for your current account, you will need to provide:

  1. Current account number
  2. Social Security number or driver’s license number and date of birth we have on file for verification purposes
  3. Contact information for your landlord, or the seller or their realtor if the property is being sold

Service Information for disconnection of current account.

  1. Account number
  2. Service location address
  3. Your Social Security number or driver’s license number
  4. Your Date of Birth
  5. Landlord/property owner or Realtor name and phone contact
  6. Requested date for disconnection of service
  7. Forwarding address and phone number

Please be advised if you are requesting a disconnection of service, you should be sure the property is winterized as NHEC is not responsible for any damage resulting from the power being disconnected per your request.

  1. Requested date to start service
  2. Address, city, state, zip
  3. Meter number or NHEC account number
  4. Your email address
  5. Name of additional person authorized on the account (if desired)
