Commercial Weatherization

Weatherization, New Equipment Saves Energy & Money

NHEC offers financial incentives of up to 35% of the installed cost of a qualifying weatherization project (air sealing and insulation). In addition, there are significant incentives available on premium efficiency heat pump systems.

Energy costs are a growing share of your operational expense – especially when your commercial building is in New Hampshire. By partnering with NHEC, you can help your business save over the long term by sealing up the building and upgrading your heating equipment.

Weatherizing your building consists of both air-sealing and insulation.  The first (and most important) step is sealing the cracks and holes in the building that allows uncontrolled airflow in and out of your building.  While you may not think your building has cracks and holes, every wire and plumbing penetration, and every place that a wall meets a floor or ceiling is an opportunity for air leakage.  After the air-sealing has been performed, adding additional insulation will reduce heat loss through the walls and ceiling. What difference can a weatherization project make?

  • Reduce your overall energy expenses
  • Improve occupant comfort
  • Improve indoor air quality
  • Reduce risks from frozen pipes
  • Reduce risks from ice dams and roof leaks

Things to keep in mind before you start:

  • Incentive funding is limited and on a first come, first served basis
  • Pre-approval is required prior to installation
